Chattanooga FC downs New Orleans 3-1

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB)-- Chattanooga FC's Luke Winter scored two first half goals and late substitute Chris Ochieng scored in the matche's closing minutes to solidify a 3-1 win over the New Orleans Jesters before 3611 fans at Finley Stadium Saturday night.
FC remains unbeaten so far in the 2015 season, but their sternest test of the year may be Wednesday, as the NASL's Atlanta Silverbacks come to town.

Despite the win, Chattanooga FC Head Coach Bill Elliott says his team squandered too many scoring opportunities, something they can't afford to do with the NASL big boys come to play.

" Just now, the team we had chances to put the game away and out of reach before halftime, and then in the second half we had more good chances," said Elliott. " I credit them (New Orleans) more than us on the misses in the second half. They cleared two off the line and that was good defending, just desperate defending but good defending by them. But, as you say, we should have put it away before halftime and we didn't and we have to get better at that otherwise it will come back to haunt us later in the season."
