Marion County man arrested on charges of money laundering, promoting prostitution

A Marion County man faces charges of promoting prostitution and money laundering. 

Several law enforcement agencies began a joint investigation of James McGlamery in June 2013.  During the investigation information came to light that McGlamery was involved in building various massage parlors and spas across the state, including two in Rutherford County, that are suspected of promoting prostitution.

On April 8th, the Rutherford County Grand Jury returned indictments charging McGlamery, 53, with two counts of Promotion of Prostitution, one count of Conspiracy to Promote Prostitution, one count of Money Laundering and one count of Conspiracy for Money Laundering. The Whiteside man was arrested in Marion County early Friday morning. He was taken to the Rutherford County Jail where he is being held on a $250,000 bond.
