CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
Thursday night was the kick off event for a program hoping to change Chattanooga, one positive relationship at a time.
The "Take-12" mentor program hosted an event at AT&T Field.
The name comes from the concept that there are are more than 85-hundred hours in a calendar year and, it only takes 12 hours to become a mentor to a Chattanooga student. "Take-12" works with other mentoring programs in the city for one goal:
Elaine Swafford, Director Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy, "To try and kick off a city-wide mentoring program for all kids. As many programs as there are in Chattanooga,we need to double or triple that to reach every child that wants a mentor."
