Less parking during 2015 Riverbend Festival

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - A lot is going on along Chattanooga's riverfront—meaning it could impact your Riverbend Festival experience.

Construction is officially underway on the new boutique hotel on Walnut Street, meaning less parking spaces this year, so you may want to start planning ahead.

Riverbend Festival Director Chip Baker says construction on the hotel won't stop, but he is working with hotel organizers to make sure the construction doesn't impact the festival in anyway.

In fact, Baker tells Channel 3 plans are already underway for the new hotel to become a Riverbend venue in 2017.

“We've got some unique ideas on how to use it for Riverbend. He's really been a great partner of ours and we're excited. As long as we've got time to plan, we're used to making things work right,” Baker said.

Baker isn't worried about construction along the Riverfront closer to the Coca Cola stage either—Even though weather has delayed work, he says it will all be out of the area come June 5th.
