UPDATE: Police investigating sexual assault case on Webb Rd.

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

UPDATE: Chattanooga police have released new details on the Tuesday morning sexual assault on Webb Road.

Police say the victim had received a ride from a stranger in Highway 58. That person then parked the vehicle near the 4100 block of Webb Road and attempted to have sex with the victim.

She was able to escape the vehicle and flagged down a passing driver. Once she was away form the scene, she was able to contact police about 5:15am.

No injuries were reported to police.

The suspect is described by police as:

  • A clean shaven, black male with dark skin, mid to late 30's
  • Wearing a red “Georgia” toboggan, red shirt and either khaki or black pants
  • Driving a newer model silver four door sedan

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525.

Police say a woman flagged down a motorist to report the incident to police.

The assault was from an unknown suspect. Police have not yet released a description.
