Cleveland man files suit against Tennessee Department of Children's Services
A Cleveland man has filed a wrongful death suit against the State of Tennessee Department of Children's Services in the death of his son.
In papers filed Friday, Wesley Beaty claims that negligent care, custody and control resulted in the child's death.
The 17-month-old was living in Morgan County, Tennessee with his mother at the time of his death. He died from choking on some food, but when the autopsy came back it showed the child had multiple blunt force injuries, bruising, and a fractured spine.
Officials say the child was part of an ongoing investigation with the Department of Children's Services starting November of 2013.
