JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- New questions have come to light after the family of the man shot and killed by two Jacksonville Sheriff's Office  officers Tuesday says he suffered from a serious physical illness.

Officers say they shot D'Angelo Stallworth because he was holding a gun and wrestled with police. However, family and friends tell FCN that Stallworth was too weak to hold a gun after his recent diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis.

Angela Mack is Stallworth's mother. She says her son couldn't open a bottle of milk or orange juice due to his MS.

"He was getting frustrated that he couldn't hold anything so then the doctor's diagnosed him with MS," said Mack. "He had such a big heart."
