Man arrested for attempting to strangle pregnant woman

SEQUATCHIE COUNTY, TN (WRCB) - A Sequatchie County man has been arrested after authorities say he attempted to strangle a pregnant woman.

Emmanuel Kirby will face charges of domestic assault and aggravated assault in connection with the incident that occurred early early Thursday on Neil Road.

Sequatchie County Sheriff Ronnie Hitchcock says police were called to the home shortly at 5am. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Kirby was booked at the Sequatchie County Jail and will appear before a judge on May 15.
