Climbing temps, but not much rain
Our afternoon temps will continue to go "up, up, and away". Yesterday we managed a high of 84. Today will see the high reaching about 87 degrees. Skies will be mostly sunny, but I think we may see a few showers or storms moving through the Blue Ridge well east of Chattanooga late this afternoon.
Temps will continue to climb Friday through the weekend. Highs will be near 90 with only a slight chance for a shower or storm each day. I am reducing the rain chance for Mother's Day to 20%, but the heat will still be in play. Monday will be hot and dry also with a high of 90.
Our temps will be about 10 degrees above average through Monday, with readings resembling those during July or August. One BIG difference between the unseasonably warm air now, and similar temps in late summer is the amount of humidity. Dew points through Monday will be in the upper 50s and low 60s. During July and August, readings are in the upper 60s and low 70s.
A front will bring some showers and storms to the area Tuesday, then cooler air moves in mid week. Highs will drop to the low 80s with sunshine Wednesday. Low 80s, by the way, STILL a couple of degrees above average.
