Good Thursday. Going from April to May will be like turning off a faucet. We will have a few more showers to put an exclamation point on a wet month. The first week of May, at least, looks like it will be bone dry.
For today, we start with sunny skies and cool weather. There are some areas of dense fog across parts of north Georgia into the Blue Ridge Mtns. Low pressure developing along the east coast will cause our winds to pick up this afternoon. Expect breezes from the west / northwest at 10-20 mph. On the back side of that low, we could also see a few light showers drifting through during the afternoon and evening hours. The best chance for rain will be east of Chattanooga. The high today will reach the low 70s.
Friday will be a little breezy, but cool and pleasant. Look for an afternoon high of 71.
The weekend will see quite the warm up. Saturday will start cool with a low of 50, then we will climb to about 77 in the afternoon. Sunday will be dry and even warmer. Skies will be mostly sunny with the high getting to 80 degrees.
Next week temps will climb to the low to mid 80s, and the rain looks as though it will stay away at least through Thursday.
