Serial burglar arrested after string of 8 burglaries

Chattanooga police have arrested a man that have linked to eight burglaries that began on March 5 and ran through April 24.

Police located a white Ford Ranger during a search at a Motel Six at 7707 Lee Highway in Chattanooga, accroding to a news release.

The vehicle was registered to Terry Highfield. 

A search of the suspect's hotel room uncovered several items that linked Highfield to the eight burglaries at local businesses.

Highfield was arrested in connection with eight business burglaries:

  1. 4/24/15: Alternative Visions Hair 6227 Lee Highway
  2. 4/22/15: Hamilton Hair Saloon 8115 E. Brainerd Road
  3. 4/19/15: Kid to Kid 7047 Lee Highway
  4. 4/6/15: Maxi Muffler 6673 Lee Highway
  5. 3/8/15: Bermuda Triangle 7550 E. Brainerd Road
  6. 3/8/15: Lazy Boy 1932 Gunbarrel Road
  7. 3/7/15: Red Wings Shoes 6231 Perimeter Dr.
  8. 3/5/15: Providence Thrift Store 6933 Lee Highway

Highfield was charged with eight counts of burglary, and several counts theft and vandalism.
