UPDATE: Missing Jackson Co. woman found, facing attempted murder charge

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

UPDATE: Investigators in Jackson County, Alabama say Ashley Kennedy was found and is now accused of stealing a SUV Sunday evening in Stevenson and leading police on a chase.

At one point, officers say Kennedy swerved in the direction of an Alabama State Trooper. After hitting spike strips, she lost control and wrecked, striking a guard rail and coming to a stop in the grass on Highway 72. 

Kennedy was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries. Kennedy will face several charges including theft, attempting to elude, and attempted murder.


PREVIOUS STORY: The Jackson County Sheriffs Office and the Stevenson Police Department are currently involved in a search for 34-year-old Ashley Grider Kennedy (aka Ashley Harris) of the Stevenson, Alabama area.  

Investigators tell Channel 3 Kennedy is a white female with blue eyes and brown hair with highlights. She was last seen wearing blue jean shorts and dark tank top, no shoes and wearing glasses. 

Investigators also tell Channel 3 she was last seen walking Friday night between 11 p.m. - 12 a.m. in the area of Highway 72 near County Road 85 in Stevenson.
