UPDATE: DeKalb Co. Sheriff's Office locates persons of interest in homicide case

DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WRCB) -
UPDATE:Two persons of interest in a DeKalb County homicide were found this morning in Cherokee County, Alabama.
The Cherokee County sheriff's department received a call about a possible sighting of Doug Minor and Norma Jo Grinnell inside of a chicken house in the Tucker Chapel community, just a few miles across the DeKalb County line.
When Cherokee County sheriff Jeff Shaver arrived in an unmarked vehicle, Grinnell walked out to the truck and began speaking with him.
Sheriff Shaver was able to contact DeKalb County authorities and after a brief foot chase, they were able to arrest Minor. He is facing charges of first degree assault and kidnapping.
Grinnell was found with injuries to her face and was treated and released from a hospital. She is not charged. Investigators believe she is a victim in this situation.
PREVIOUS STORY: DeKalb County Sheriff's Office received a call of an unresponsive female at residence at located on County Road 127 on Lookout Mountain around 4 a.m. Saturday.
Investigators tell Channel 3 when deputies arrived on scene they found the victim inside the residence and determined the manner of death is possibly blunt force trauma to the head with bruising on the body.
Investigators also tell Channel 3 the victim was picked up by the coroner and transported to the Department of Forensic Science in Huntsville. Officials will not know the cause of death until the pathologist report is received by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and District Attorney's Office.
Officers tell Channel 3, they were told the home owner Doug Minor left the residence in a 1998 White Ford Ranger with a homemade bumper on the front of the truck and tag number 28BJ617.
The direction of travel is unknown at this time. Norma Jo Grinnell maybe a passenger in the vehicle with Minor.
Doug Minor is 32-years-old and is 6 feet in height and weighs 190 pounds. Norma Jo Grinnell is 36-years-old and is 5”5” and weighs 185. Minor and Grinnell are both persons of interest.

Sheriff Harris states “anyone coming in contact with these persons please contact your local law enforcement because they are considered dangerous and maybe armed.”
