Storms moving out. Spotty afternoon showers

Posted: Updated:

Good Monday.  With the morning storms tapering off, we will see behind them some cooler weather with increasing winds through the day blowing at 10-15 mph from the west.  This afternoon will be partly to mostly cloudy with a few spotty showers possible.  Today's high will reach the low 70s.

Let's talk rainfall amounts.  Another 2.05" fell yesterday, bringing the April total to 8.34", WAY above the average so far into the month of 2.55".  For the year we are running a surplus of 2.22" above average.  With the rain this morning, be ready for localized areas of flooding as well as downed trees or power lines.

Tonight will be a little cooler with partly cloudy skies and a low of 46.

Tuesday will be amazing.  Skies will be mostly sunny, and we will get up to about 71.

Wednesday through Thursday will be fairly dry.  I think we may see a few showers Wednesday night into Thursday morning, but most of Thursday looks sunny and dry.

Our next chance for widespread rainfall will come Friday afternoon into Saturday with a few showers possibly lingering into Sunday.

Temperatures the second half of the week will be comfortable in the low 70s.
