Good Sunday. Expect rain through the morning hours. This afternoon we will see the widespread rain transition into spotty thunderstorms, some of which have a slight risk of becoming severe. The biggest threats with these storms will come from damaging wind and small hail. Flooding is also a concern as we are expecting an inch or more through the day. The ground is already saturated from recent rains, so any significant rain today could spark more areas of flash flooding. As far as any tornadoes, the risk according to the Storm Prediction Center for Chattanooga south into north Georgia is 5%. It's a small chance, but still demands close attention this afternoon. The high today will reach the low to mid 70s.
Tonight, we will only see a few isolated showers and storms, and those will linger on and off through Monday. I am putting Monday's rain chance at 30%. The high will reach 73.
Tuesday will be the pick day of the week. We will have a return of the sunshine with a pleasant high of 70.
