Burton Wins Wal-Mart BFL Volunteer Division Bass Tournament on Lake Chickamauga

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Bryan Burton from Sevierville, TN caught a five bass limit weighing 15.09 lbs. to top the field of 111 anglers to win the Wal-Mart BFL Volunteer Division Bass Tournament on Lake Chickamauga. This event was held out of Chester Frost Park on Saturday April the 18th.


Bryan said “I fished the heavy cover all day and was lucky to get the bites I got”.  


Most anglers reported tough fishing during the day after a 2 hour fog delay. Only 11 five bass limits were caught among the 222 anglers that participated.


Second was local angler Rogne Brown catching a 5 bass limit weighing 14.08 lbs.


Chris Seese from Lenoir City, TN won the co-angler division catching a 5 bass limit weighing 15.07 lbs.


Big bass of the pro division was caught by Shawn Strader from Rockwood, TN, a nice 7.03 pound largemouth good for $555.


Big bass on the co-angler side was caught by Patrick McClenahan, from Chattanooga, TN, weighing 5.15 pounds good for $227.


The top 5 in the Pro Division are as follows:

1. Bryan Burton, Sevierville TN 15.09 lbs $4046

2. Rogne Brown, Hixson TN 14.09 lbs $2023

3. Wes Tilley, Andersonville TN 14.01 lbs $1,348 

4. Shawn Strader, Rockwood TN 13.11 lbs $944

5. Michael Johnson, Gray TN 13.00 lbs $809


The Top 5 in the Co-Angler Divison are as follows:

1. Chris Seese, Lenoir City, TN 15.07 lbs. $2,023

2. Jason Lake, Barbourville, KY 15.00 lbs. $1,011

3. Michael King, Bristol, VA 13.03 lbs. $674

4. Donnie Holder, Mooresburg, TN 6.13 lbs. $472

5. Josh Osborne, Bristol, VA 6.07 lbs. $405
