Suspected gang member charged with attempted first degree murder

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
A Chattanooga man, who police say is a known gang member, is facing charges in connection to a 2014 drive-by shooting.
Darrius Harris, 19, was booked at the Hamilton County Jail Monday on charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm while in commission of a felony, and two counts of reckless endangerment.
According to court records, Chattanooga Police responded to reports of a person shot at 250 West 38th Street on December 30, 2014.
The victim, Dartangan Rollins, told police he and another man were walking through an alley when they heard five or six gunshots. Rollins was shot in the leg.
The victim identified the shooter, who allegedly fired shots from a vehicle, as “Deedy Weedy”. According to an affidavit filed in Hamilton County General Sessions Court, Facebook photos helped Street Crimes Response Team Investigators identify Darrius Harris as “Deedy Weedy”.
Harris is due in court to answer to the charges on April 14.
