UPDATE: Police have identified the man found dead in Calhoun over the weekend.

The victim has been identified as 36-year-old John Morgan of Hamilton, Texas.

Officials say Morgan is believed to have been in the calhoun area for the past few months.

Police were responding to a domestic dispute on Saturday, when they found Morgan deceased in a vehicle.

James Ennis and Giovanny Britton are each charged with murder in connection with Morgan's death.

Both are behind bars in the Gordon County Jail.

Calhoun police uncovered a body in a car when they responded to a domestic dispute Saturday.

As police were trying to locate the address on West May Street, police came across a car sitting along the road and stopped to investigate.

In the car's passenger seat, officers discovered the body of a white male.

Paramedics arrived and confirmed to police the death that appeared to have taken place as the result of an altercation.

Calhoun Police Detectives and agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation began gathering information and evidence from the scene, which led to the arrest of two suspects Sunday night.

James Thomas Ennis, 56 and Giovanny Preston Britton, 44, both of Calhoun, GA. have been charged with one count each of murder and remain in the Gordon County Jail, with further charges pending.

“We are withholding the name of the victim pending notification of the family and expect to release this information latter today,” Lt. Tony Pyle said in a news release Monday.

The body has been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in Decatur, GA.
