Scattered showers, storms through Friday night, with a cool/dry Easter Weekend

Posted: Updated:

Good Thursday.  We will see a few scattered showers this morning, and a few scattered thunderstorms this afternoon.  While the threat for severe weather in our area is extremely low, we will of course be watchful.  The high today will climb into the low 70s.

Tonight we will see evening storms tapering off with cloudy skies overnight into Friday.  We begin our Friday with mostly cloudy skies and temps in the upper 50s.  There will be little to no rain Friday, but it will stay cloudy all day.  Warm air will stream in ahead of a front.  Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s Friday afternoon.  Friday night, as the front moves through, we can expect a line of strong to severe storms to push through.  Right now it looks like the timing of the storms would be 8-10pm.

Overnight we will see it clearing out with cooler, dry weather this weekend.  Saturday morning, check out the lunar eclipse.  Viewing should be pretty good between 6:45 and 7:20am, right before the moon sets.  Temps will be near 50 Saturday morning.

Saturday afternoon will be awesome.  Expect sunshine and highs in the mid 60s.

Easter Sunday will start with temps in the mid to upper 30s in most areas.  It will be about 40 in Chattanooga.  The sun will rise at 7:23 Sunday.

The warmer air will start to stream in Sunday afternoon with mostly sunny skies and a high near 70.

Next week will start rainy with temps in the low to mid 70s.
