Atlanta city council member says 2015 Final Four should move to Atlanta
ATLANTA -- Atlanta City Council member Andre Dickens sent a letter today to NCAA President Mark Emmert calling on him to move the NCAA headquarters and this year's Final Four from Indianapolis to Atlanta.
"For this year's Final Four, Atlanta is ready and waiting. We can be ready in short notice with a capable and fast acting event staff Atlanta would welcome any and all participants and fans to the City of Atlanta with open arms," said Dickens.
"Atlanta is a city built on tolerance and home to numerous Fortune 500 companies and internationally renowned nonprofits. The NCAA should strongly consider moving its headquarters to Atlanta," said Dickens.
Dickens comments come on the heels of Indiana Governor Mike Pence signing a bill that would allow businesses to discriminate against gays, lesbians and frankly just about anyone else they wanted to.
