Roadrunner linksters ready to rumble

Posted: Updated:
Loudon, TN (dsroadrunners.com)– The Dalton State men's golf team will join the field for the Tennessee River Rumble on Monday and Tuesday at the prestigious Greg Norman designed Tennessee National Golf Course.

This year's Tennessee River Rumble field is comprised of individuals and players from 12 different institutions. The 12 programs competing in the Tennessee River Rumble field hail from eight different states, with teams traveling from Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Indiana, Ohio and Kansas.

Along with the Roadrunners and the hosts from Lincoln Memorial University, Anderson, Brevard, Carson-Newman, Catawba, Tusculum, Hillsdale College, Taylor University, University of Findlay, Washburn University and Walters State Community College will also be vying for the Tennessee River Rumble title.

Coach Ben Rickett says his Roadrunners are ready to play. “It's been nice having 10 days at home,” said Rickett. “We got some good practice in and we were ready to recharge the batteries. We have an important stretch of golf coming up in preparation for the Conference Tournament. That's three weeks of great competition and I'm ready for the guys to get back out there.”

The course plays-out at 7,400 yards with scenic views of Watts Bar Lake. The tournament will consist of two 18-hole days.
