Associated Press honors WRCB as "Best Newscast" at annual awards in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN (WRCB) - The Tennessee Associated Press Broadcasters and Tennessee Associated Press Managing Editors honored the best journalists in the state on Saturday evening in Nashville.

The annual awards presentation at the Marriott Vanderbilt Hotel recognized radio, television, newspaper, and online media organizations.

WRCB Channel 3 Eyewitness News took home top honors in five categories for its division including Best Newscast. 

Other first place winners were: 

  • Paul Shahen as Best Sportscaster
  • Derek Eledge as Best Photojournalist
  • Lindsay Murray for Best Sports Feature 
  • Channel 3 Newsroom Team for Best Weather Coverage

The station was recognized as a finalist in six other categories: Best Reporter (Matt Barbour), Best Weather (Paul Barys), Best Breaking News, Best Hard News, Best Feature, and Best Investigative.
