CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - Chattanooga police have arrested a gang member in connection to a shooting on Sixth Avenue.

O'Shae Smith faces charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.

When officers arrived on the scene in the 2500 block of Sixth Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, they found a 18-year-old Kendre Allen suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Shortly after, officers located Smith, a documented gang member, and took him into custody.

Smith was actually a shooting victim earlier this month on March 15. Records show he was also shot and wounded in February 2013.

Smith remains in jail on a $495,000 bond. He's scheduled to appear in court April 6 before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Lila Statom.
