It was the third of 15 NCAA mandated spring practices which will culminate in the Mocs' annual Blue & Gold game set for April 18th at Finley Stadium.
Until then, for Mocs Head Coach Russ Huesman, its all about identifying players willing to step up for graduating seniors such as former tight end Faysal Shafaat, wide receiver Tommy Hudson and running back Keon Williams." Just talking about the defensive line, we feel really good about the talent level," said Huesman at the start of the spring practice regimen. " I mean we got Josh Freeman coming back, Isaiah Mack out of Northwest Whitfield we think is going to be a star. Taylor Reynolds can be a really good player, but the problem you get into when you lose Danny Ring, Davis Tull, Derrick Lott and Zack Ryal now, you took a big hit to your depth, "says Huesman.
The Mocs are off until Wednesday, then hit the practice field again Friday prior to the team's first full scrimmage set for Saturday at 2pm at Scrappy Moore Field.
