Dolly Parton kicked off Dollywood's 30th season Friday.
2015 will mark a year of change for the theme park. Dolly spent part of the day sharing her plans with with people holding season passes.
For the first time in 10 years, Dolly will take the Dollywood stage as part of the return of showcase with the stars. She's bringing back the concert series featuring 2 concerts a day. Dolly will kick off the series August 8 & 9th. Kenny Rogers will end it. Other performers will be announced soon.
The goal of the concert series is to raise $1 million dollars for the Imagination Library.
Dolly Parton, "But to do it like we used to. When I do 2 shows on Saturday and Sunday. A matinee and at night show. And all the money going to the foundation. Kenny is going to close the series and in between have some of the biggest names and all the money going to Imagination Library hoping to raise about a million dollars for that."
Dolly promised more expansion news later this year.
Of course, Dreammore Resort is the other big focus. The 300-room resort will open later this year. It will add 2000 jobs in Sevier County.
