PIKEVILLE, TN (WRCB) - UPDATE: Funeral arrangements for Bledsoe Co. detective Ricky Seals have been announced.

The family will receive friends Friday from 12-9 pm and all day Saturday at the Pikeville Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Cold Springs Baptist Church.

Burial will be in the Iron Hill Cemetery.

Flags are at half-staff in Pikeville Friday as friends and family mourn the loss of Detective Ricky Seals.

Many questions still remain on exactly how the detective died, but community members say there's a sense of relief knowing he did not die from any physical injury.

"There were a lot of concerned people there for a while," said Amy Agee of Pikeville, "Thinking someone was running loose that might have done something to him."
But it doesn't take away the pain of the community's sudden loss.
Seals lived his whole life in Pikeville, serving as a member of law enforcement for more than 30 years.

And every day, sometimes multiple times a day, he would visit the McDonald's off Main Street.

"I mean, he was like a part of our family too," said employee Ashley Seibers, "As much as he was in here, he always parked right here in front of the store."
Seibers says Detective Seals would always come in with a smile. He would order a coffee and water, and make sure everyone working was smiling just like he was.

"I can just keep hearing him," Seibers said, "He would always say is something wrong, is something wrong, can I do something? So I can just hear him saying that now."
Seibers says the store just doesn't feel the same without him. Employees will wear blue ribbons with their uniforms on Sunday, the day of his funeral.

"And I just live up the road so I have to pass the sign now and it was really really hard for me this morning," Seibers said.

Just across the street the Seals family received friends at the Pikeville Funeral Home.
Crowds of people stopped in throughout the day to say goodbye to a detective, who they say lived to help others.

"They need prayers, condolences," Agee said, "They're still suffering and very sad about it of course. Sudden loss."

"I've known him all my life. He's a good friend and a good officer."

The whole community was left in shock when Seals was found dead early Tuesday morning.

"I just always had good thoughts and memories about him. I'm just shocked that it happened to a man like him."

Now a community is left to grieve one, whose career was dedicated to protect them.

It's going to be a tough loss.  The sheriff described him as a great friend and law enforcement office and that sure is going to be a tough loss for this community."

"It's a big loss. Of course time heals everything. But we're gonna miss him and live on memories I guess."

The big question remains of how exactly Detective Seals died. And it's something TBI says they're working around the clock to find out.

"We are working this case as aggressively as we can. We're hoping to get to the bottom of the cause of death."

Detective Seals will definitely be missed in this community.

"It's very sad. A big loss. A very big loss."
