DALTON, GA (WRCB) - Dalton police are asking for the public's help identifying a man that took $600 in cash that a victim accidentally dropped at the RaceTrac gas station at 1907 Chattanooga Road.

Investigators tell Channel 3, the theft happened Monday, January 12 between 9:15 p.m. - 10:15 p.m. pm.

Store surveillance shows the victim entering the men's room and then leaving the store a short time later. When the victim realizes he'd accidentally dropped the cash, he contacted the store and employees were unable to find the money.

Surveillance shows the suspect entering the bathroom shortly before 10 p.m. and exit minutes later. At one point, he is seen on video counting money before leaving.

Investigators tell Channel 3, the suspect is a white male who appeared to be in his late teens or early 20's with close cropped hair.  He wore a black pullover and black sweatpants.

Anyone with information on this incident or the identity of this suspect is asked to please contact Detective Matthew Lowery at 706-278-9085, dial 9 and enter extension 133.
