Girl Scout Shot

Posted: Updated:

(WTHR) A 9-year-old Indianapolis girl returned home from the hospital Wednesday after being shot Tuesday evening as she was walking with her sisters to a Girl Scout meeting.

Police say Sinai Miller was shot in the calf while standing in the parking lot of the Retreat Cooperative Apartments.

"Going to Girl Scouts, coming right outside your door and getting shot. It's hard to hear that," said the victim's stepfather, Mark Chandler.

He says the girls were walking to pick up their Girl Scout cookies, just headed across the parking lot, when the shooting occurred.
