Good Wednesday. The cold weather this morning will be more than made up for this afternoon as light southerly winds bring our temperature up to 54 degrees. The average high for his time of year is 52. We will also sport sunny skies today.
Clouds will move in tonight as a weakening front slides through. It will bring some light snow showers to the plateau and the Blue Ridge, but I expect little accumulation. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 20s in the mountains, so patchy areas of black ice for the morning commute are possible. For the rest of Thursday, it will clear out, but behind the front the air will cold and blustery as winds blow in from the north at 10-20 mph. That will keep temps in the low to mid 40s.
The cold air sticks around through Friday morning. We will start the day in the upper 10s and low 20s! Friday afternoon should be nice, though, as the skies become sunny and the temps climb into the low 50s.
It gets even nicer over the weekend. Saturday will be sunny with highs in the upper 50s. Sunday we will have clouds building, but should still manage to see the high climb to near 60 degrees!
Monday will be a little cooler as another front brings us a few rain showers Monday morning, and a cool but tolerable high of 51.
