NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Five lawmakers to watch in a special session on Gov. Bill Haslam's proposal:

1. HOUSE SPEAKER BETH HARWELL: Usually a staunch Haslam ally, Harwell has been noncommittal about the governor's plan.

2. SENATE SPEAKER RON RAMSEY: Ramsey surprised many when he declared in December that a special deal for Medicaid could be "sellable" to skeptical lawmakers.

3. SEN. DOUG OVERBEY. Overbey stepped up to sponsor the resolution after Senate Republican leader Mark Norris begged off.

4. HOUSE REPUBLICAN CAUCUS CHAIRMAN GLEN CASADA: Casada straddles the fence between his own opposition to the plan and the interests of the 73-member GOP caucus.

5. HOUSE DEMOCRATIC LEADER CRAIG FITZHUGH. Identified by Haslam as key to passing the measure, it's been a long time since Democrats felt so relevant in the Legislature.
