UPDATE: Hiker falls 30 feet in Prentice Cooper

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - A hiker fell roughly 30 feet down slope on Cumberland Trail of Prentice Cooper State Park located on Suck Creek Mountain. 

The call came in around 4:30 Friday afternoon.   Rescue crews located the man about 3 and 1/2 miles within the woods sitting up and conscious, but in a lot of pain. Three people and a dog were with him.

A cave and cliff team from Hamilton County were called in to help with the rescue.  

A medical crew was sent to evaluate at the hiker before transporting.  He is suffering from internal injuries. 

Channel 3 had a team at the scene when the hiker was pulled to safety and loaded into the ambulance. 

It took 35-people to coordinate this rescue. 
The hiker was taken by ambulance to meet Life Force where he was flown to the hospital.
