CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
Good Friday! We have a cloudy start this morning, but the skies will clear behind a cold front. We will not warm much at all as the high reaches 44, and winds blow from the north at 10-15 mph making for a blustery afternoon.
Cold air continues to filter in tonight as the low drops to 26 under clear skies. Saturday will be a nice day, though. The temperature will rebound into the low 50s. Clouds will build late Saturday ahead of the next front. Those clouds will yield rain Sunday afternoon through Sunday night. I expect about 1/2" of rain from this system. It will be mild in the afternoon with the high getting up to 53.
Monday, we will have temps during the morning in the low to mid 30s. With the cold air and some residual moisture we could easily see some light snow showers Monday morning. In the mountains we could see about an inch of accumulation, and I would expect we may be dealing with some patchy black ice in those areas as well. Make sure you are watching for updates over the weekend. It will clear out Monday afternoon, but we will stay cold. The high Monday will only reach about 39 degrees.
Tuesday will be sunny and a little warmer with a high of 47.
