Posted: Updated:

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who used a stolen credit card to rack up more than $450 in fraudulent charges.

Police report the card was stolen from a local gym locker room sometime between 4:30 and 6:45 p.m. on January 15th. The male victim said that he left his belongings unlocked in the gym locker room while working out, and when he returned he discovered his brown leather wallet had been stolen from his bag.

When the victim contacted his bank, he was informed that his bank card had already been used to make several purchases at the Premium Outlet stores in Calhoun, GA. In total, the card was used for $485 in fraudulent charges at both the Polo Ralph Lauren outlet and the Oshkosh store.

A Dalton detective was able to retrieve surveillance images from the Polo Outlet showing the suspect making the fraudulent purchases. The suspect is an African American male wearing Nike workout apparel. Police also report the suspect is shown with what appears to be the Nike logo shaved into the back of his head, or some type of distinct birthmark.

Anyone with information on the theft or the identity of the suspect is asked to please contact Detective Brian Shirley at 706-278-9085, dial 9 and enter extension 189.
