Home of Sandy Hook Elementary shooter to be razed

Posted: Updated:

Officials in Newtown, Connecticut have voted to tear down the home where Adam Lanza lived before the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.

The Newtown Legislative Council approved a proposal by the Board of Selectmen to demolish the home.

Back in 2012 Lanza shot and killed his mother inside the home before killing 20 first graders and six educators at the nearby school.

The two acre property was given to the town by a bank that acquired it from the Lanza family.

The land will be kept as an open space.
