Good Thursday. . It will remain cool and cloudy through the day. We will be about 10 degrees cooler this afternoon than yesterday with highs in the low 50s. Even with the clouds, the rain chance today is very low. Only a slight chance for a sprinkle or two.
Tonight the clouds continue streaming in. That will help moderate temps a bit. We will be in the mid to upper 30s with a few isolated showers beginning to pop up. Through the day Friday, low pressure (currently over Texas and Louisiana) will drift by to our south. In the process, it will bring us rain showers on and off all day, and into Friday night. Rainfall amounts on the plateau and into Chattanooga will be near .50". South of the city into north Georgia rainfall amounts will be closer to an inch. It will be cool Friday as well. I expect the high to only reach the mid 40s.
Saturday will start cloudy with a slight chance for a remnant shower lingering into the early morning. Temps Saturday morning will be in the mid to upper 30s. Saturday afternoon it will clear out with a cool high of 49. Sunday will see a mix of sun and clouds with a morning low of 31, and the high reaching 53.
A clipper system diving down from the north will possibly bring a little mixed precipitation to start next week, but I am keeping the chance low at 20%. The latest model runs show most of the moisture staying to our north. Temps Monday will be above freezing all day with a low of 37 and a high of 47.
