The Bessie Smith Cultural Center was transformed Monday into "Tech Town"
The one-day event was aimed at introducing kids and adults to coding, robotics, circuiting design, videography and other technologies. The idea is to encourage digital equality and access for all. The director of "Tech Town" explains why it's important to address the digital divide.
Chad Bullard, Tech Town Exec. Dir.,"Tthat we arm our next generation, and current generation with the tools that they need so they can approach these technologies intelligently and that they're able to use them and succeed in whatever field they're pursuing."
"Tech town" will be working with Hamilton County Schools for the next 20 weeks, and then will have a 6-week summer camp.
