Tennesseans driving south to Atlanta (and beyond) might consider taking their dinner or lunch break before or after driving through Georgia’s Cobb County.

An Alabama man was ticketed in Marietta, GA, last week for eating a cheeseburger while driving. He plans to fight the citation when he gets his day in court Feb. 3.

Atlanta’s WSB-TV reports that Madison Turner had ordered a Quarter Pounder with Cheese at a McDonald’s on Canton Road in the Cobb County city north of Atlanta. Soon after, he was pulled over.

Turner told the station the ticketing officer said, “He observed me eating a burger for two miles,” and Turner says the officer told him, “You can’t just drive down the road eating a hamburger.”
