When the Louisiana Tech women's basketball team faced MTSU in Murfreesboro Saturday night, it was more than a road game for head coach Tyler Summitt.

"It's going to be a very special night to have my mom here, my dad here, my wife AnDe here and her family," said Summitt. "It's going to be very special."

Saturday's game was Summitt's first time in Tennessee as a head coach. His Lady Techsters came to Murfreesboro with a record 8-7 (3-1 Conference USA).

"I credit our staff for making this head coaching transition for me so easy," explained Summitt. "They've done such a good job stepping up and taking on the responsibilities that it really hasn't been that frustrating and hard for me, or too much of a whirlwin, but very blessed to have this opportunity."
