Latest road conditions for Friday

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Dozens of schools are closed or delayed for Friday and slick roads are making the commute slippery for many.

The Chattanooga Police Department has worked multiple accidents this morning and fortunately no injuries are reported. There was an accident at 7900 Apison Pike, Interstate 75 N after the VW Exit, Hunter Road, 5900 Brainerd Road on the bridge over South Chickamauga Creek.

Channel 3 has checked with surrounding counties and received the following reports. This list should not be considered all-inclusive and will be updated throughout the morning. If you know of a problem, email newstips@wrcbtv.com.

  • Bradley County: At least three accidents overnight due to ice.
  • Bledsoe County: No reports of ice.
  • Catoosa County: Ice "everywhere" including parts of Battlefield Parkway and Highway 41.
  • Dade County: All clear; ice on overpasses
  • McMinn County: Good so far.
  • Polk County: No icy reports. Ducktown looks okay.
  • Sequatchie County: No problems.
  • Walker County: Slick in spots. North Highway 27 had a two-car wreck with no injuries.
  • Whitfield County: Every bridge is iced over. Public works and road department has been working everything since 1:00 a.m.
