Hamilton Co 911 Employees start benefit drive for the Maclellan Family Shelter

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - On Thursday, the Hamilton County 911 District announced their first annual Maclellan Shelter for Families benefit drive by collecting donations of toiletry products. 

The Maclellan Shelter opened in December 2014 and provides private rooming for homeless families who would have been separated from one another and housed in different facilities when seeking shelter. 

The donated toiletries products will help provide families staying at the shelter with the necessary comforts for daily hygiene.

The benefit drive is sponsored by the Hamilton County 911 CARES Committee that consists of employees from each department at 911.

The public is invited to participate in supporting this worthy cause by dropping off donations at the Hamilton County 911 Center on Amnicola Highway between Monday--Friday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., through the end of February. 

Suggested items for donation include:
Bars of soap    

Body wash
Shampoo    

Deodorant
Toothbrushes    

Toothpaste
Floss    

Mouth wash
Disposable razors    

Combs
Hair brushes    

Shave cream
Flips flops for the shower    

Wash cloths
Bath towels    

Lotions
Cotton swabs    

Nail clippers
Feminine care products
