Country music star, Merle Haggard to perform at Riverbend

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - With forty #1 hits and scores of Top Ten songs, Merle Haggard is a legend who was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1994.

A couple of Haggard's hits include, "Okie From Muskogee," "Workin' Man Blues," "Mama Tried," "That's The Way Love Goes," and "I Think I'll Just Stay Here and Drink."

Haggard will hit the Coke Stage at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 7 at the Riverbend Festival with a lineup including Leon Russell and Sam Hunt. 

Leon Russell is a legendary musician and songwriter from Tulsa, Oklahoma who has been performing his gospel-infused southern boogie piano rock, blues, and country music for over 50 years.  

Russell was inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame and the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2011.

Leon Russell plays the 6:30 p.m. slot on the Coke Stage June while Sam Hunt will play at the Bud Light Stage at 8 p.m..

San Hunt's debut album, Montevallo, follows Hunt's recent four-song album preview, X2C, led by the Top Five, gold-selling track “Leave the Night On.” Hunt has written hits for Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and Billy Currington.

Suzy Bogguss, one of the key artists that defined those golden days of '90s country scored a string of Top 10 singles with country radio staples like “Outbound Plane,” “Drive South,” and her 1991 album of that name was certified platinum. 

Suzy Bogguss will be on the Unum Stage Thursday, June 11 at 8 p.m.
