First American Girl store in TN set to open this spring
The first American Girl store in Tennessee is still set to open this spring in a mall near Nashville.
According to CoolSprings Galleria's website, the "experimental retail store" will open sometime this spring, but the site doesn't provide an exact day or month.
Currently the original article on the store's opening, published February 2014, is one of the most-read stories on wbir.com. 10News checked on the store's status Wednesday, and it appears the opening is on schedule.
American Girl is known for its signature line of dolls. The 9,000-square-foot location in CoolSprings Galleria will have all of the line's historical and contemporary dolls, along with outfits, accessories, and books.
Shoppers will also be able to have a meal or celebrate a birthday in the store's 25-seat Bistro, treat their dolls to a new hairdo in the Doll Hair Salon, or design a doll-sized t-shirt in the "Creativi-Tees" boutique. The store will also offer a variety of girl-and-mom events and programs throughout the year.
Currently, the nearest American Girl retail store for Nashville is in Atlanta.
The company's first retail store opened in Chicago in 1998.
