Naps benefit babies' memory and learning

Posted: Updated:

New research finds daytime naps may help babies memorize and learn.

The German study tested six and 12-month old babies who were shown a repetitive procedure right before their regular nap.

Babies who took long naps were significantly better at repeating the procedure the next day than those who napped less than 30 minutes.

Researchers say more studies are needed but say naps help babies process the information they get throughout the day.
