Good Tuesday. The rain yesterday was impressive on the Cumberland Plateau. 1.5" to 2.5" fell, while in the TN Valley the rain amount was a little more modest. About .50" fell there. Only .10" to .25" hit the ground in north Georgia and the Blue Ridge Mountains. While we won't see any heavy rainfall today, our cool, cloudy, drizzly start to the week continues.
We are starting the day with temps in the upper 30s and low 40s. Skies are overcast and we have a bit of patchy fog around the area. I don't expect much change through the day. Temperatures will continue to hover around 40 degrees, and we will continue to have cloudy skies. We may have a few light showers developing this afternoon as low pressure bumps up against the area for several hours. I don't expect any significant accumulation, though.
Tonight, it will be overcast and cool with the low dropping to 34. Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 40s. Lows both days will be in the upper 20s and low 30s.
I am really looking forward to the weekend. First, because it's the weekend. Also, the average high for this time of year is 50 degrees. We will have a high of 57 Saturday and 55 Sunday! Both mornings will be chilly, in the low 30s.
