Alabama teen charged with attempted murder

JACKSON COUNTY, AL -

A teen is recovering after being shot in the leg. 

It happened Saturday around 10:30 p.m on Spiller Avenue in Bridgeport, AL.  

The suspect had fled the scene and was picked up in Stevenson by Stevenson Police Department. 

Seventeen-year-old Trey Montez Hutchins is charged with shooting 19-year-old Lataz Austin Smith.  Smith was taken to Erlanger for treatment. 

Hutchins was charged as an adult with Attempted Murder and is housed at the Jackson County Jail.  No bond has been set.
