One eatery has cooks with dirty clothes, but another scores a 96

I hope this will be a great year for you and your family to dine out.

This marks our first Restaurant Report Card for 2015 and the good news we have no failing grades to report among the ten restaurants inspected.

Due to holidays, there were not a lot of inspections, but each week we do give you the low score and that's an 86 at Bluewater Grille in downtown Chattanooga. Remember a failing grade is any score lower than a 70.

There, inspectors found sliced tomatoes and salmon at the wrong temperature, clean utensils that were being stored in dirty bins, food was not covered in the walk-in cooler and some employees were wearing dirty clothes in the kitchen. In other words, a kitchen employee must be wearing a clean apron and clothing at all times. Finally, raw seafood was being stored next to cakes.

The high score of the week is a 96 at Aquarium Foods. Congratulations for their hard work

Remember any complaints about a restaurant, hotel or motel, day care or a place you work out, call the Hamilton County Health Department at 423-209-8110. They ask for you to please call weekdays between 8:00am and 4:00pm and talk to someone in the Environmental Health office.

Also this month inspectors will be visiting all the schools in Hamilton County looking at not only the cafeterias, but the entire building.

As I say each week,  enjoy your meal!
