Posted: Updated:
Goodman, a heating/ventilation and air conditioning equipment manufacturer, is relocating their operations to their soon-to-be expanded headquarters outside of Houston.

The Goodman facility in Dayton employs over 500 people. Another plant in Lincoln County, TN will also be part of the consolidation, which will put nearly 1,900 people out of work, according to WHNT.

Daikin Industries, Goodman's parent company, is a global company that is the world's largest manufacturer of heating, cooling and refrigerant products in the world, according to a news release from the company.

World-wide, the company employs 50,000 people.

Texas and Tennessee operations that will be relocated to the new business campus include engineering, logistics, procurement, manufacturing, and marketing. Manufacturing operations at this new campus will consist of residential and commercial heating and cooling systems marketed primarily under the Daikin, Goodman® and Amana® brand names.
