KNOXVILLE, TN (WBIR) - U.S. Sen. Bob Corker will accompany President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden on Air Force One while the group travels to Knoxville on Friday.

Corker said he's glad Obama is making the visit to East Tennessee.

"I welcome President Obama to the Volunteer State and am glad that he will be highlighting our state's success in higher education and our efforts to attract and maintain high-quality manufacturing jobs for Tennessee families," said Corker in a statement.

It's been a big week for the Corker: he was just named chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

The president will visit Pellissippi State Community College's Hardin Valley campus in west Knox County. The president and the Bidens will then stop in Anderson County to tour Techmer PM in Clinton and talk manufacturing jobs.
