CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB)-- UTC Head Football Coach Russ Huesman's past caught up with him Sunday, as the Mocs confirm the transfer of Volunteer red shirt sophomore wide receiver Drae Bowles from the University of Tennessee to Chattanooga.
UTC Sports Information Director Jay Blackman confirmed the story to WRCB Sunday afternoon, after our partners at the Chattanooga Times-Free Press and beat reporter Stephen Hargis broke the story on Twitter.
Huesman says he heavily recruited Bowles from Jackson Christian High School, but was pleasantly surprised when Bowles approached UTC about transferring from Knoxville.
Bowles played in two games this season, against Utah State and Chattanooga.
He's set to start school Monday as classes resume at UTC.
Bowles, a 6'1, 205 pound wide out should help fill the absences in the Mocs receiving corps, with the recent graduations of Faysal Shafaat and Tommy Hudson.
