COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The Ohio State football team received a 50-second standing ovation when it was introduced during the school's men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon.
After a highlights clip was shown on the center court monitors of the Buckeyes' 42-35 victory over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, coach Urban Meyer spoke briefly. He thanked the fans and students for their support during the Buckeyes' 13-1 season. He also called the Buckeyes the closest team he's ever been around.
Captains Doran Grant and Curtis Grant then spoke, with the latter leading the large crowd in the O-H, I-O cheer.
